Cropped Quilted Puffer Vest with Stand Collar and Zip

A sleeveless quilted vest that stops at the waist. The stand collar closes at the base of the neck, so it covers the part that actually gets cold while leaving the arms free for whatever knit is underneath. A drawcord at the hem pulls the shape in. This is the layer for the days that are too mild for a coat and too sharp for a sweater alone, and it works over a shirt in October as well as under a coat in January. The quilting is worked in vertical panels that keep the filling evenly spread.
